Kelly Munkvold, LPC, NCC
Welcome! I am Kelly Munkvold, LPC, NCC. Inquiring about therapy is a big first step, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I graduated from South Dakota State University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, along with additional training in play therapy. After graduation, I began working in both community mental health and school settings, where I had the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and in many different stages of life. These experiences shaped my approach to therapy and ultimately led me to find my home at The Growth Collective.
I take a person-centered and solution-focused approach to therapy, while incorporating elements of self-compassion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and play therapy. I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual, meeting you where you are and building on the strengths you already have.
At the center of my work is the desire to create a meaningful, safe space where clients can come exactly as they are. Therapy isn’t a space where you need to show up at your best—or your worst. It’s a space where you can simply show up as you are that day, whatever that may look like.
